Appointment of Liaquat Ali Khan

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah appointed and invited the Finance Minister Liaquat Ali Khan  to setup and run his administration. He was assassinated on 16^th October 1951 (buried at Mazar-e-Quaid, the mausoleum built for Qauid-e-Azam in Karachi) and Khawaja Nizamuddin took the office.

First Census and Official Visit to USA

The Administration under Liaquat Ali Khan had managed the first census in Pakistan in 1951 and before census in May 1950, he paid an official visit to USA.

Arresting of Faiz Ahmad Faiz | Rawalpindi Conspiracy

The first attempted coup d’etat againt Khan’s government took place in 1951, which was known as Rawalpindi conspiracy in which Faiz Ahmad Faiz was arrested and many army officers are charged for plotting the coup including Major General Akbar Khan.

Assassination of Liaquat Ali Khan | Assassin Said Akbar

He was shot twice in the chest while he was addressing in a procession at Company Bagh, Rawalpindi. The police immediately shot down the presumed murderer who was later identified as professional assassin Said Akbar. Said Akbar was an Afghan national from Pashtun Zadran tribe, who was known to Pakistan Police prior to the assassination of Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan.
