(16y + 12y + 5y + 56000)/40 = y

7y = 56000
y = 56000/7
y = Rs. 8000
Expenditure on food = y/8 = 8000/8 = Rs. 1000 answer
Expenditure on conveyance = 3y/10 = 3(8000)/10 = Rs. 2400 answer
